Te Mana o Ngāti Rangitihi Trust confirms General Manager appointment
Te Mana o Ngāti Rangitihi Trust is delighted to announce the appointment of Alana Hunter as our new General Manager, a role she steps into with strong experience, proven leadership, and committed service to our iwi.
Alana has been part of the Trust whānau for almost 14 years, contributing across many important areas of the Trust’s kaupapa. From governance support to operational leadership, from guiding kaimahi to working alongside our Pou and Trustees, Alana has consistently upheld the kaupapa of Ngāti Rangitihi and helped drive our priorities forward.
At a recent Board hui, the Trustees confirmed her appointment, acknowledging the significant level of responsibilities she has already been carrying within the organisation.
As General Manager, Alana will have responsibility for the overall operations of the Trust, supporting the work of our Pou and kaimahi, strengthening the Trust’s organisational systems and accountability, and ensuring the direction set by our Trustees is carried through into the day-to-day work of the Trust.
Chairman Leith Comer, says this appointment brings clarity around the strategic leadership and management of the Trust.
“As we continue to grow the social, cultural, environmental, and economic wellbeing of Ngāti Rangitihi, for Ngāti Rangitihi, strong leadership is essential,” says Leith.
“It is vital we have leaders who understand our people, our history, and our aspirations – Alana brings all of that, and more.”
“Her skills, experience, and deep knowledge of the Trust will help ensure our mahi continues to move forward in the right direction.
“On behalf of all Trustees, we congratulate Alana and look forward to her continued leadership and contribution to our iwi.”
Alana acknowledges the Trust for their confidence in her stepping into the role.
“It is a real privilege to take on this role, and it is not a responsibility I take lightly,” says Alana.
“I’m lucky to work alongside such dedicated colleagues in our tari who go the extra mile to drive our pou forward.
“It’s an exciting time to be a part of the Trust, and I’m committed to putting in the hard yards to grow opportunities for our iwi.”
