                                                                                                Bachelor of Māori Development (Waiariki Institute of Technology) (Please note: Deadline has been extended until Friday 27 January 2012)

                                                                                                Te Mana o Ngāti Rangitihi Trust, in partnership with Waiariki Institute of Technology, is pleased to offer five scholarships to Ngāti Rangitihi uri, wishing to enroll in the 2012 Bachelor of Māori Development (BMD) programme.

                                                                                                Scholarship Criteria:
                                                                                                • There are no fees for the first year but you do have to pay the student fee at the start of the first year. This is reimbursed on successful completion of your first year of study.
                                                                                                • The BMD has four core subject areas. These include Resource Management, Business, Language and Culture, and Communications. Students will major in one of these core subject areas.
                                                                                                • The BMD is a three-year degree programme that prepares students for future management and leadership roles that support iwi and Māori development. 
                                                                                                • You must be eligible for degree level study with NCEA at level 3 or be 20 years of age or older
                                                                                                • Year One course dates commence 20 February to 9 November 2012
                                                                                                • Part of the enrolment process requires meeting with Te Kura Māori staff at Waiariki Institute of Technology to ensure courses and specific majors can be confirmed, and these meetings are scheduled for every Wednesday and Thursday from 18 January until the end of February 2012
                                                                                                • Enrolments will be accepted subject to numbers or until 20 February 2012
                                                                                                • The closing date for scholarship applications has now been extended until 5pm on Friday, 27 January 2012

                                                                                                Send a copy of your completed enrolment form, a cover letter to support your application along with an explanation on how you plan to use your qualification upon successful completion of the three-year degree programme to:

                                                                                                Remember, you need to complete the enrolment procedures with Waiariki Institute of Technology direct, and send your scholarship application to us.
