Rangitihi Kai Tahi
Rangitihi Kai Tahi is back with a strong focus on reconnecting whānau to our turangawaewae.
Based at Rangitihi Marae the bi-monthly community events will again be an opportunity for whānau to reconnect with one another and to rekindle their relationship with their turangawaewae. The first event took place in February which saw the launch of a raranga workshop, organised by a group of local wāhine. Whānau were then entertained by Ngāti Rangitihi musician Sam Ngawhika on the ātea, taking advantage of the beautiful summer weather. Last year, five events were held from May to November, giving more than 200 iwi members a chance to experience whakawhanaungatanga and kotahitanga at home on their marae. A great highlight of each event is the sharing of stories between pakeke and rangatahi as well as performances from special guests with close ties to Ngāti Rangitihi. Then, of course, is the kai! This year the Trust would like to approach each Kai Tahi with a different theme based on whakawhanaungatanga, tutakitanga and noho ngātahitanga. To find out about each specific event, click on one of the highlighted dates to the right to download the latest flyer. Rangitihi Kai Tahi is open to all whānau and members of the Matatā community. |
