Mandate Voting Open
Te Mana is seeking a mandate to represent the iwi in negotiations with the Crown over historical Treaty of Waitangi grievances. Voting opens on 29 March and closes on 30 May. There are three ways to vote: by post; internet, or ballot box at our mandate hui. Voting packs have been sent to all known beneficiaries.
To be eligible to vote you must descend from the tūpuna Rangiaohia and Apumoana, through the tūpuna Mahi and Rangitihikahira, be 18 years of age or older, and either:
a) Be individually registered as a beneficiary with Te Mana. If you have not registered under your own name click here for a Registration Form which must be completed, signed and sent to Te Mana by 30 May 2014, or
b) Have completed a Register to Vote Form including your whakapapa for verification. To vote without becoming a beneficiary of Te Mana click here for a Register to Vote Form. It must be completed, signed and sent to The Returning Officer, Te Mana o Ngati Rangitihi Trust, PO Box 3138, Christchurch or email@example.com by 30 May 2014
Both new registrations and register to vote forms (including whakapapa) will need to be approved by Te Mana’s Kahui Kaumatua for a vote to be counted.
If you were previously registered by your parents or guardians and have since turned 18, you must submit a signed registration form or register to vote form for your vote to count.
