Te Tohu o Te Mana
Our Logo, Our Identity
He tohu hou tō Te Mana o Ngāti Rangitihi. Te Mana o Ngāti Rangitihi Trust has a new logo.
Designed and developed by renown local Ngāti Rangitihi artist and carver Erin Tioke, the new logo provides a strong foundation for Te Mana o Ngāti Rangitihi Trust as we forge new and exciting pathways towards a positive and sustainable future for Ngāti Rangitihi whānui.
Erin and local graphic artist Tania Waikato were instrumental in the development of the design process from start to end. Their approach was to ensure the integrity of the kaupapa by following proper Tikanga Māori through consultation with, and involvement of our local kaumātua at our papa kāinga, Rangitihi Marae.
Following a series of hui held at the Marae during the months of April and early May, the design itself was presented by Erin and Tania to our local kaumātua and members of Te Mana o Ngāti Rangitihi Trust at Rangitihi Marae on May 18.

In retrospect of the design process Tania spoke of the importance of the kaumātua involvement throughout the journey, making certain that the new logo incorporates all the elements that represent Ngāti Rangitihi as an iwi.
Erin then followed suit by explaining in detail each aspect of the design from the colour schemes to the craftsmanship (see chart below) The presentation was met with encouraging and positive feedback along with the generous sign of approval from our kaumātua. Subsequent to the hui the new logo was blessed by a local kaumātua and has now been successfully implemented by Te Mana o Ngāti Rangitihi Trust, with sincere gratitude to everyone involved. |
