Iwi Register
Tēnā koutou e ngā uri o Ngāti Rangitihi
We wish to welcome all Ngāti Rangitihi, (the descendants of (the tipuna) Rangiaohia)) or whāngai of an iwi member to register on the Te Mana o Ngāti Rangitihi Trust iwi register. The purpose of our iwi register is to ensure the Trust’s accountability to all our registered members. The register is used to record details of each member and their respective whānau affiliations to Ngāti Rangitihi (whakapapa), as well as contact details to communicate key messages and voting papers. Our preferred method of communication will be by email. If you or your whānau are not yet registered, please find all relevant information regarding our iwi registration processes below and links to our registration form to the right. Contacts It is important that if you have changed your contact details, for example, address, e-mail or telephone number, you let us know. Please contact our Registrar, on 07 322 2452 or info@ngatirangitihi.iwi.nz Criteria Each person registering with Te Mana o Ngāti Rangithi Trust is required to have affiliations to ngā uri o Rangiaohia. To register you will need to provide details of your whakapapa. If you are not sure of these details then we can help you to find out. For details of your registration please contact the Registrar on 07 322 2452. If for any reason your registration is declined, you have the right to appeal. Correspondence should be directed to the Chairman of Te Mana o Ngāti Rangitihi Trust. Whakapapa The Validation Committee meet on a 2-monthly basis to validate the whakapapa on all new registration forms. The committee is made up of four kaumātua who were selected by a wider group of kaumātua for the purpose of validating whakapapa and assisting iwi members in identifying their whakapapa if required. Privacy of Information The information that you supply to us is confidential and we will ensure that the spiritual sacredness of whakapapa is acknowledged and respected; and the requirements of the Privacy Act 1993 are met with regard to access, storage, disclosure and use of information, and all written or oral information in relation to applications for registration, nominations for office and voting shall be treated in the strictest confidence subject to the express terms of the Trust Deed. |
