Te Mana o Ngāti Rangitihi Trust - Iwi Initiatives Fund
Applications are encouraged from individuals or groups who are leading or participating in activities which demonstrate a clear commitment to the service, promotion, growth or well-being of Ngāti Rangitihi. A total of NZ$20,000 is available for allocation for the year to December 2011. A maximum of NZ$2,000 will be awarded to successful applicants. Funding is competitive and applicants will be required to demonstrate the benefits of their activity to Ngāti Rangitihi. Applications will be assessed on a first come, first served basis against a set of objective criteria (details below). All decisions on funding applications are made by a sub-committee of the Trust Board. All funding requests are processed through the Trust. The Trustees do not respond to personal approaches. |
Please read the following notes carefully before filling in the Iwi Initiatives online application form below.
Eligibility Criteria
- Apply for funding (10) ten working days BEFORE the event happens.
- Register with Te Mana o Ngati Rangitihi Trust.
- Provide in writing, a letter and profile outlining your event, include overall costs, and a photograph for the Ngati Rangitihi website. This can be as brief or as long as you wish.
- Provide a letter of verification from your coach, teacher or organisation on letterhead, confirming your participation in this event/ activity.
- Provide your bank details on a pre-printed bank deposit slip, or a verified printout of your bank account details from your bank. Payment will be made by Direct Credit to your account.
- The amount of the grant shall be a contribution towards the cost and not represent the total cost to the group.
- The event/ activity must support the align with and/or support the kaupapa of Te Mana o Ngāti Rangitihi Trust.
- The event must have a significant impact on, or contribution to, Ngāti Rangitihi.
- A brief report is required once the event is completed. If a report is not submitted, you will not be eligible for the Iwi Initiative Fund in the future.
- The Iwi Initiative Fund Fund does not cover costs related to Buildings or land, Business or Investment Capital, Expenses etc, Capital Assets or Equipment costing over $500, all Core Education, including Scholarships, Equipment, Activities etc, Loans and Endowment Funds, Overseas Travel, Expenses, Exchange Programmes etc, Projects Outside the Geographic Borders of New Zealand, Religious or Political Advocacy or Advancement, Urgent or Retrospective Applications. As this is not an exhaustive list of exclusions, applicants are encouraged to contact us if they are unsure whether their initiative meets assessment criteria.
- IMPORTANT: If you are successful in receiving funding, you will not be eligible for further funding until 12 months after the event.
