Iwi/hapū: Ngāti Rangitihi, Wharepaia
Harina Warbrick is a company director with a background in the private business sector. She leads two companies – one which contracts to Te Wānanga o Aotearoa providing programme management and co-ordination in programme development, and the other which deals with foreign and overseas trade.
During 2012, Harina acted as the chief executive of Te Mana and over saw the drafting of the Mandating strategy, as well as the education and te Reo strategies. She says her most significant achievement was leading the work on the purchase of 43 Arawa Street in Matata, and making a start on the iwi property portfolio.
As a trustee for Te Mana, Harina believes it is important that Ngāti Rangitihi grows and develops its future leaders and uses the settlement process to come together as one. She has a focus on improving communications and ensuring Te Mana has an inclusive approach where everyone has the chance to be heard. Building the understanding of the iwi whakapapa and history is also important, with the overall goal of completing a comprehensive settlement with the Crown.
